29 It is thought that some of the recent upsurge of spam (see 5th May entry below) that some people have been experiencing could be to do with their web sites being trawled by a rogue web bot or spider called psycheclone. This invasive piece of code clumsily examines all of a site's pages every few days but doesn't appear to provide any benefits to the site owner from the exercise (as opposed to, say, Google or Yahoo who do a similar job but then add your site details to their search engine).

I have now added a simple piece of PHP code to my site (based upon that suggested by John at The Drawing Board) which will divert the psycheclone critter away and leave my site alone. Hopefully, this will reduce my spam load - only time will tell...
28 The north Norfolk town of Holt had a Doctor Who Weekend - photos here.
10 Several more photos added to the photos section.

31 The photos section has been expanded somewhat - there's now over 250 photos in there. I've added a whole new section called Norwich Scenes which, for those not familiar with the city, should give you some idea of what it's like.
9 A couple of additions to the list of web sites I've worked on - both of which went live today. The new Crone Rocks site is for the band Crone who have recently signed to Broeknrule Records and Poppyland Publishing has been transformed from a static HTML to a database-driven ecommerce site!
5 Like most people - I HATE SPAMMERS!!!!! Just recently my domain name (but NOT this web site) was hijacked by spammers. They are now sending out junk emails to people in my name (or, at least, they contain return addresses that use my domain) and I'm getting all the "unable to deliver" messages back from the mail servers. I'm not the only one to suffer from this. So, if you think I am spamming you - nope, it's not me!

Two years ago Bill Gates predicted that, by now, spam would be dead - just goes to show how much he is in touch with reality... still, he did help write Windows, the biggest virus around...
